I'm a Jesus-Follower and endeavor to live to please Him and Him alone. This can be summed up in two statements:
Deut 6:4,5
"Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and will all your soul and with all your might".
Leviticus 19:18b
"...you shall love your neighbor as yourself..."
As I type this, I'm convicted how much I fall short of loving God and loving others on a daily basis. Sanctification is a life long process.
Salvation, on the other hand, is a gift. I am 100% certain I am going to heaven. The Bible tells me that salvation CANNOT be earned.
Ephesians 2:8,9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
These two commandments challenge me every day I live!
In 2010 we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.
I'm also a mother of two...Daniel is 10 and Sarah is 7.
Our son was diagnosed with high-functioning autism when he was about 3. We enrolled him in a special needs public school preschool. He was 3 1/2 when he started riding the school bus to school. He attended public school from preschool through 4th grade.
Our daughter attended a Christian preschool and public school for full-day kindergarten and 1st grade.
We decided to begin homeschooling in 2010 when Daniel started 5th grade and Sarah started 2nd grade. We removed our kids from public school in June of 2010. We found that there just was not enough time to teach our children the ways of the Lord with them gone all day at school and when they were home they had to do homework!
I enjoy gardening, reading and memorizing the Bible, EATING! (not cooking) and being crafty.
This blog is dedicated to our homeschool journey which officially began Monday, June 28th, 2010.
